Institutional Student Programs and Services
Admission Services (Registrar’s Office)
The ISPS Unit coordinates with the Registrar’s Office in assisting the students process their entrance requirements to the University in general, and to the respective Colleges where they wish to take their chosen degree programs. The unit makes sure that the requirements and procedures for admission in place are followed and administered well. The unit also looks into the accommodation of the students with disabilities as stipulated in RA 7277. Moreover, the unit also helps in properly informing the stakeholders about the guidelines of the University pertaining admissions and enrollment.
Scholarships and Financial Assistance
The ISPS unit is focused on the generation, management and allocation of funds for scholarship and financial aid to deserving students. The unit has linkages with government agencies, private institutions and alumni which are extending financial assistance to the students, usually in the form of grants and scholarships. These programs are made accessible by the unit through immediate and effective information dissemination modalities. The ISPS also helps the scholarship granting agencies in the screening, briefing and monitoring procedures. The unit also ensures that the grantees understood the terms, conditions and guidelines set by the sponsors of their grants, aids and scholarship programs through conducting orientations and consultative meetings. The ISPS unit works with the designated Research Coordinators of the Colleges in monitoring the performance and status of the scholarships and grantees. They make sure that the policies and guidelines are administered properly, including reaching out the students who belong to the vulnerable and/or marginalized sector of the community.
Food Services (BD)
The ISPS unit coordinates with the Business Directorate in ensuring that food items, products and services is available, adequate, safe and healthy within the campus and immediate vicinity in accordance with the guidelines set by the Department of Health on food and safety. The ISPS ensures that the criteria set by the University regarding safety and sanitary conditions on the canteens, food stalls and centers within the campuses or within the compound of the institution are being followed. In terms of the safety of food services outside the University campus premises, the ISPS coordinates with the local government.
Health Services (HWU)
The ISPS unit coordinates with the Health and Wellness Unit in providing the students relevant and needed primary health care and wellness programs. The ISPS in coordination with the medical professionals employed in University and with the student leaders, supports the promotion of healthy lifestyle, physical activities and mental health through different student activities and initiatives such as the conduct of webinars, sports festivals, and exercise programs.
Safety and Security (SMS)
The ISPS unit helps in implementing the standards set by the government in providing safe, accessible and secure environment, buildings and facilities for students, especially to those with disabilities. The ISPS helps in the programs and initiatives to address disaster risk reduction and management, in the conduct of earthquake and fire drills, in crime prevention, and in ensuring safety and security.
Student Housing and Residential Services (Directorate)
The ISPS unit helps in monitoring the provision, cleanliness and safety of the accommodation facilities for students in the University. The unit keeps records of acceptable, safe, clean and affordable dormitories and housing facilities outside the campus. The unit helps in disseminating such information to students so that they can be directed to safe housing facilities. Moreover, the unit coordinates with proper offices in the University and with the local government in monitoring the services of these dormitories and housing facilities outside the University campus premises.
Multi-faith Services
The ISPS unit promotes the students’ the right to practice their religion within the school premises. With proper coordination with the student organizations, the unit supports the conduct of activities in which the students are free to express their religious orientation in accordance with the institutional principles and policies.
Foreign/International Students Services (ELP)
The ISPS supports the programs and initiatives of the E___ L---- P_____ in providing assistance to address the needs of the foreign students especially in the orientation and briefing activities which help the foreign students to successfully adjust to the University context or environment and to be very well integrated socially, psychologically and culturally.
Services for Students with Special Needs and Persons with Disabilities
The ISPS works with the related offices in the University in providing and administering programs and activities designed to provide equal opportunities to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), indigenous people, solo parents, etc. The ISPS shall ensure that financial assistance, scholarships, life skills training, counselling and mentoring services shall be made available to them.
Sports Development Program (CHuMS)
Through coordination with CHuMS, the ISPS unit supports students’ activities that promote physical fitness and wellness of students. The ISPS ensures that students who represent the University in different national, sectoral and cultural sports activities and development are given training allowances and benefits.
Social and Community Involvement (Extension - Departments)
The ISPS coordinates with the different student organizations and the extension units of the different departments in the Colleges in the University in implementing and facilitating programs and projects that cultivate social awareness, personal internalization and meaningful contribution to nation building. The unit encourages the students to join as volunteers in student organizations’ initiatives to reach out to community through relevant extension programs.
Other Related Programs
The ISPS unit helps in disseminating information to stakeholders regarding institutional programs of the University and in organizing information, data and records regarding these institutional programs initiated by the University.
