Subject to the limitations prescribed by law and that of the University policies and regulations, every student shall have the following rights:

1. receive relevant quality education through competent instruction for one’s full development as a human being;
2. be informed of one’s rights as well as the policies, rules and regulations affecting oneself;
3. be respected as a person with human dignity who is entitled to full physical, social, moral and intellectual development, to humane and healthful conditions of learning;
4. avail of student services to enable a student to know oneself, to make decisions, and to select from alternative fields of work in line with one’s  potentials;
5. express and pursue one’s opinion on any subject, provided, that the expression and dissemination of such views are not contrary to law;
6. publish and receive a copy, in any form, of the University student publication or similar publications paid for;
7. invite resource speakers during convocations, fora, symposia and assemblies of similar nature;
8. participate in the formulation and development of policies affecting the University in relation to the locality/region, and nation through representation in appropriate bodies;
9. establish, join, and participate in organizations, clubs and societies for purposes not contrary to law;
10. receive reasonable protection within the University premises;
11. participate in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities;
12. enjoy academic freedom;
13. redress of grievances against any wrong or injustices committed against a student or other students by any member of  the academic community in accordance with the defined channels of authority therein;
14. due process before being subjected to disciplinary action;
15. have access to one’s own records in the University for the purpose of determining one’s class standing the confidentiality of which the University shall keep and which records the University shall maintain and preserve;
16. continue and pursue one’s course of study therein up to graduation, except in the cases of academic delinquency and violation of disciplinary regulations;
17. be informed by the University on work opportunities;
18. expeditious issuance of certificates, diplomas, transcript of records, grades and transfer credentials;
19. be free from involuntary contributions except those approved by their own organizations, clubs or societies and those approved by law; and
20. receive medical and dental and other student services provided by the University.
